Yorkshire puddings can easily be made from home, as long as you follow this simple cooking technique to help them come out fluffy and crispy.
Gordon Ramsay has claimed there is a secret to making sure your Yorkshire puddings come out perfect and get them to rise properly.
In an article for House & Garden, Gordon explained that is essential to let your Yorkshire pudding batter rest on the counter before you begin cooking.
Gordon wrote: “In Gordon Ramsay's restaurant, they make the Yorkshire pudding recipe batter the night before and leave it at room temperature until it’s needed the following day.
“You don’t need to do this, but make sure you rest yours for at least an hour before you cook to ensure a good rise and deliciously light puddings.”

To make Gordon Ramsay’s Yorkshire puddings, you will need:
- 125g of plain flour
- 150ml of whole milk
- Three large eggs
- Half a teaspoon of salt
- Vegetable oil or beef fat drippings for cooking

Method
Beat the eggs together in a large mixing bowl with a whisk and then carefully sift in the flour and salt using a sieve.
Mix the ingredients until you have a smooth batter, and then pour in the milk.
Cover your mixture and leave the batter to rest for at least one hour, but overnight if you have time.
Gordon wrote: “Let the batter sit. Make sure you rest your batter rest for at least an hour before you cook to ensure a good rise and deliciously light puddings.”
Once you are ready to cook, preheat the oven to 220C/200C Fan/Gas Mark 7.
Put two tablespoons of oil or drippings in each compartment hole in a muffin or cupcake tin (or a Yorkshire pudding tin if you own one).
Place the tin in the oven for around 12 to 15 minutes until the oil sizzles and the tin is very hot.
Then take the tin out of the oven and pour in your Yorkshire pudding batter into each compartment hole. Be very careful at this stage as hot oil can be dangerous. Make sure to wear oven gloves and only do this stage next to the oven, as you do not want to walk around carrying hot oil.
Immediately put the tin filled with Yorkshire pudding batter into the oven again and let them cook for 15 minutes or until they have risen.
Do not open the oven door to check on the Yorkshire puddings while they are cooking, as this will prevent them from rising.
Your delicious golden Yorkies are now ready to serve with your roast dinner with all the trimmings.
