Kemi Badenoch is the hot favourite to take over from Rishi Sunak as the next leader of the Conservative Party.
The Business and Trade Secretary’s chances of taking the helm have shortened to 9/4 from 3/1 last month, according to Betfair Exchange.
Ms Badenoch, 44, is trailed by two other women – Penny Mordaunt, at 7/1 and Suella Braverman, at 8/1.
Sam Rosbottom, Betfair spokesman, said:“With the possibility of election disaster looming, rumblings from Tory rebels suggest that the next leader is being lined up – and punters are pretty clear on who they believe it will be.”
