Boy, six, killed in horror crash as car smashes into double decker bus on 'dangerous' road
Resident say the road is extremely dangerous and claim there have been several accidents there before.
A woman and two children were killed after their car collided with a double-decker bus and another vehicle.
The crash on the A61 between South Stainley and Ripley, North Yorkshire, killed a woman in her 30s, a teenage girl and a six-year-old boy.
Their silver Vauxhall Meriva collided with a blue Toyota Aygo and a bus which was travelling in the opposite direction to both cars.
The horror smash was at 2.20pm on Sunday, September 3.
The driver of the bus was taken to hospital with leg injuries and some of its passengers were taken for treatment after sustaining minor injuries.
Meanwhile the two people who were travelling in the Toyota were not hurt.
Local residents have pointed out how dangerous the stretch of road seems to be.
Katie Deaton-Leach, wrote: "How many people have to die on this road before they do something about it?
"Poor father/partner losing their family in one accident. Shocking for people involved too."
Nina Louise, whose daughter was on the double decker, added: "It was absolutely horrific, my daughter was on the bus and she is so shook up by it. Just can’t understand why car was travelling on wrong side of road.

"Absolutely tragic. Thoughts go out to their loved ones."
And Olivia Parker added: "Five fatalities. That’s three crashes in seven days. Happened outside our house. It’s far too fast this road. Something needs to be done. Heartbreaking. My prayers are with the families of those lost today."
Rowan Darlington said: "It seems the number of catastrophic crashes in our area has boomed this year. My daughter uses that road a lot and it's terrifying to think how quickly lives are gone. Condolences to the families that have been affected."
While Shanagh Brown said: "So so sad, thoughts are with the family, some major changes need to be made to the road!"
The road was briefly closed for investigators to examine the scene, and it was later reopened at around 11.30pm the same day.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said their relatives have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
The force appealed for anyone who saw any of the vehicles prior to the collision or witnessed the incident to get in touch by calling 101.
