Jurgen Klopp is likely to use today’s FA Cup clash with Everton as a chance to rest some Liverpool stars. The likes of Mohamed Salah, Jordan Henderson and Virgil van Dijk could all be given the afternoon off after a hectic festive schedule.
The Reds are also troubled by injuries and could field a much-changed side in the Cup as they focus on claiming their first ever Premier League title.
Takumi Minamino could be involved in some capacity having completed his move from RB Salzburg, though Klopp has suggested the Japanese star will not start.
Though today’s Merseyside derby could prove a good chance to impress and push for a regular spot for the likes of Adam Lallana and Divock Origi.
Like Minamino, Rhian Brewster is also likely to be involved in the squad having returned to training following an ankle injury.
However Fabinho (ankle), Dejan Lovren (muscle), Joel Matip (knee), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (ankle) and Xherdan Shaqiri (hamstring) are all likely to miss out.
Though Klopp was coy on any changes he may make for a highly-anticipated derby clash.
Following the Premier League win over Sheffield United on Thursday, Klopp said: “How can I rotate? A little bit. We will see.

“For us it’s the day after the game, so we are still assessing the boys, how they feel, how they reacted on the game last night, which was an intense one.
“The boys played an incredible game, that was only possible because we invested a lot, were dominant, ran a lot, all that stuff, so we have to see.
“I couldn’t make a line-up in this moment even if I wanted to and that’s the thing… we have to make sensible decisions obviously about these things.”
