TOUR DE FRANCE 2018 - here’s all you need to know about the biggest cycling event in the world.
Four-time winner Chris Froome will be seeking to take home a fifth Tour de France victory but will surely face stiff competition from Romain Bardet who finished less than three minutes behind Froome after his victory last year.
The 21-stage race offers challenges including everything from the Alpe d’Huez, to the cobbles of Paris-Roubaix and a 65km stage in the Pyrénées for the first time in Tour history.

When does the Tour de France start?
The Tour de France runs from Saturday, July 7 to Sunday, July 29 and is made up to 21 stages, covering a total distance of 3,351km (2,082 miles).

Stages this year promise to be a lively mix of eight flat stages, five hilly stages, six mountain stages, three altitude finishes and an individual and team time trial.
The Tour De France this year will include a dizzying total of 26 hill and mountain climbs for competitors.
Cyclists will see 12 of these climbs in the Alps, 4 in the Massif Central and 10 in the Pyrenees.
The stages will be nearly 100 percent French, with the exception of a brief detour into Spain from Carcassonne to Bagnères-de-Luchon during stage 16.

Tour de France LIVE stream
Live coverage of the epic race will be aired on both ITV4 and Eurosport.
However, the final day of racing will be shown on ITV.
Viewers can stream Tour de France online through the ITV Hub or the Eurosport Player.
ITV Hub is available on both Apple iPhone, iPad and most Android devices and is free to download.
The app will allow users to stream ITV4 coverage live from France.
If you happen to miss the cycling action, highlights of the day will be shown on ITV4 and Eurosport 1 at 7pm every day.
However highlights of the final day's racing will be shown on ITV4 at 9pm.
Users will still be able to watch Eurosport coverage of the event if they are not a channel subscriber.
If you are an Amazon Prime member you can access Eurosport Tour de France streams though the Amazon Channels service.
This will give you a seven-day free trial of Eurosport, after which viewers will have to pay.
You will need a valid TV Licence to watch or record live programmes.
It is a criminal offence in the UK to watch “live” television without a TV Licence.
