Last night, Michigan native Mayweather seemingly put the combat sports world on notice by posting a video of himself entering a cage to his Twitter and Instagram pages.
The video came a few months after the former five-weight champion suggested he could one day fight in the UFC.
The Olympian’s posts, which came a little less than 24 hours after the announcement of Canelo Alvarez’s rematch with Gennady Golovkin, led some fans to believe he’s contemplating rematching Conor McGregor in a mixed martial arts bout.
Throughout the build-up to Mayweather vs McGregor, the former repeatedly claimed he’d be willing to fight the UFC’s poster boy in MMA after beating him in the boxing ring.
That notion was laughed off by the majority of the MMA world, including White, who made his feelings on Mayweather’s recent Instagram post known last night.
Not long after seeing Mayweather’s latest attempt to goad McGregor, the UFC chief reposted the video to his own page with a smiley emoji.
White isn’t keen on the prospect of a rematching between McGregor and Mayweather in general, recently saying: “I don’t want to do it again.

I don’t want to do it again
“I heard that Floyd Mayweather showed up last night at one of the nightclubs in Vegas with a Conor McGregor t-shirt on.
“I know these guys have been talking s**t, but I want Conor to start training again and come back and defend his title.”
Mayweather’s video was successful in garnering a response from McGregor, who had a public chuckle to himself.

Conor McGregor hasn't fought in mixed martial arts since defeating Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205
McGregor, 21-3, hasn't set foot inside the Octagon since claiming the lightweight title in the main event of UFC 205, a card which saw him become the first fighter in the promotion's history to hold two titles simultaneously.
His first fight back in mixed martial arts is expected to see him take on the winner of the lightweight bout between interim 155lbs champion Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov, which headlines UFC 223 in April.
At this moment in time, it's unknown if Ferguson vs Nurmagomedov will be for the undisputed lightweight title as White has refused to clarify McGregor's status as 155lbs champion.
